The former farm buildings converted into housing as well as the mill are developed according to a rectangular plan, perpendicular to the Dronne. Machinery from 1940 is still in place and in good condition. From previous elements, only the wheel of the old mill and a few millstones scattered in the garden are left.

Under the Old Regime, the Moulin of Chenaud was linked to the residence of the Dwelling located not far upstream. Originally, it was a flour and oil mill of nave-mill type with stem and side wheels as the Napoleonic cadastre plan suggests. At that time, the mill came with farm buildings and a residence which are now destroyed.

In the early 40's Marcel Aymé’s brother transforms the whole site into a resort. The paddle wheels are disappearing in favour of a turbine used for electricity production. The mill is connected to the farm buildings which were then altered, to form one main building.

Towards 1942, Alix Aymé did the mural painting visible in the part of the mill converted into a bar. In the 80s, a wing at right angles was added to the whole... apart. The wall painting done by Alix Aymé at the ground floor of the mill represents a rural scene... profane scene.
